ever buy these at conventions and such? they sell them for like up to 5$ CAN for a normal pack in conventions, when you can just go down to a china-town or any asian store and buy it for a bit over a dollar for normal ones xD

yup, no lie, they can go for up to 5$, maybe tax included, but still, that's a lot even w/o tax. And people actually buy it too lol

woah, I thought it would cheaper in Canada compared to Australia. I get mine for $4

For shame jesus... for shame!! Pocky's are a blend of pretzels sticks & chocolate coating (but there are other coatings ie strawberry, vanilla), and are the unofficial snacks of anime/manga lovers everywhere

Anyways, truthfully, ever since i was a child, pocky's were plentiful, and to me it seemed more like the "poor man'"'s dessert because they were everywhere (well in every asian gorcery store anyways) and you could buy plenty for cheap. But ever since anime and such started becoming bigger worldwide, all of a sudden everyone knows it and considers it amazing lol. This kinda reminds me of the pizza once being a poor man's dinner, then becoming big.
