wellzy4eva writes: Josh Olson has been signed to adapt the best-selling Japanese manga series Monster for New Line Cinema. He also did the adaptation of the graphic novel A History of Violence for the studio. Monster is a psychological thriller that centers on a young doctor who saves a little boy's life. A few years later, the doctor learns that the boy he saved has turned into a masterful killer. The protagonist must track down the killer and ultimately attempt to solve an even larger conspiracy. A bit of interesting news. I'm definitly a big fan of the series! Let's see where this one goes.

Monster is a great manga, created by the same author who did 20th Century Boys. I never got to finish Monster which I dread since its a story that kept me wanting more. I look forward to a movie adapation though.... if you are going to pick a movie to adapt this is definitly a manga you would want to produce.

I personally love the anime series. I just picked it up recently, and man, I can't believe I went for the last year without knowing it was out there... Have to thank the guy that got me into it, I really appreciate it :-) You know who you are :-)

I haven't had a chance to watch the anime series yet, I heard Soldats was doing the subbing for that. I do know that the manga (only if you have no money that is) can be found on www.isohunt.com all 18 volumes (look for Monster complete)... hrm not sure if I'm allowed to put that up though, just wanted to let people know... check out why this manga is one of the best.

Is this for real? Monster is my favorite manga, probably one of the best seinen out there. I've never heard of Josh Olson before this but I see good reviews for History of Violence. Hopefully it will turn out well as a movie, just as the anime has turn out pretty good.

History of Violence is very good... the only thing I worry about is how he will adapt it for a movie. Monster is really a long intense manga filled with so many twists that definitly wont be in the movie. As long as people realize he isn't making an exact replica of the manga, he's just adapting a good story then I'm sure it should be good.

My thoughts exactly. Not everything can be LOTR, and even that had to cut some scenes. I can only hope for good things knowing that the first name attached to this project is someone who seems to know what he's doing.
