Kaioh writes: *The December issue (on sale on November 4) of [sitelink=publishers.html?id=163]Shueisha[/sitelink]'s Jump Square magazine will reportedly announce that KONOMI Takeshi will start a new manga series for Prince of Tennis in the April issue (on sale on March 4). The purported advertisement from the Jump Square issue says that everything in The Prince of Tennis up to now has been "prologue" and that "a new legend for [the main character] Ryoma and the others will begin." Konomi ended the original manga series in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine last March after almost nine years and 379 installments. However, he has been soliciting new assistant artists since early August.
Jump Square already announced that a new "tribute" manga called Houkago no Oujisama (The Prince of Afterschool) will launch in the December issue on November 4. The same issue will have a poster, the launch of a new series of feature articles on The Prince of Tennis musical, and a giveaway for musical tickets. The second volume in the third animated video series shipped this month, and the musical version continues to run in Japan, Taiwan, and South Korea. Viz Media will publish the 28th of the 42 manga volumes in North America next month.

i was really glad it was finishing at long last now they are saying it was the prologue? 😮 OMG leave it alone man if you eat too much honey you start to hate it no matter how sweet it was at the beginning. i just can't imagine this getting more exciting then before (frankly a lot ppl were ready for this series to end is my guess)
Well, since they will get better, I wonder what kind of techs will they use then. Seriously, if they used such fantastic techs in high school I can't really imagine how will it be afterwards. Unless they get more realistic, like Captain Tsubasa.

Oh geez. After 300 something chapters, aren't people sick of it already? The plot was getting boring and repetitive towards the middle to end. I doubt the continuum will hold my interest.

Am I the only one looking forward to it? I loved Prince of Tennis, I tolerated the exaggeration of the last chapters, but still, it's a great manga...though a 300+ chapter prologue is a bit much. I can't wait 😀

..been anticipating this for a while now. The way the 'The Prince of Tennis' left off at the end made me believe it wasnt completely finished. To say that it was only a prologue though... well, atleast now its been official annouced, can't wait for it to be scanlated.

Yeah, same here. The Nationals Semis and Finals were torpid black holes. How you build off something so lame is anyone's guess.
Ironically, that's why I'm interested. XD
