I just watched the Sicko movie and it make me wonder is it the US healthcare system is really that bad and what is your country healthcare system.

I'm from Malaysia and don't really sure about my country healthcare system but I think in my country there two to get medical help, through government and private.
Through government is cheap but the service is normal whereas through private is expensive but the service is good..

The US system is mostly private, but there are government-funded options for low-income earners and their children, and seniors. It does leave out a substantial number of people who are above the poverty line but still too poor to afford adequate health insurance, however.

The Obama administration has been trying very hard to push a healthcare reform bill through the legislature. Originally they wanted a fully universal health care system, but naturally there was a too much opposition to that. Then they planned to introduce a cheaper government option people could buy into, to create competition with the private companies and generally lower costs. Later on that failed to get enough support too, and now the bill is stuck in Congress, and nobody really knows what is going on anymore. It was very big in the news a few months ago but these days you don't hear about it at all.

The possible restructuring of the healthcare system is what causes the most debate, but the bill is also meant to control some problems that everyone acknowledges, such as insurance companies making their rates prohibitively expensive for people with chronic conditions.

As for the Sicko... Michael Moore loves to blow everything out of proportion just to make more money, so you shouldn't believe everything you see in that movie.

Our country's healthcare is superb.

Part of the reason why there are so many immigrants. 🤣

Haha, I just found out that our healtcare here is superb,
When you visit the doctor, you don't have to pay the doctor fee, it's covered by the government,
As well as the medicines that will be prescribed to you, but, I think that you need to just register(with pay but little) or something every time...

Not often goes for check-ups, I don't get sick that much anyway, other than my usual allergies...

Well, we(I) pay bills for the healthcare every month, and, it's kinda wasted on me, cause I don't really get sick ATM,
And the bills aren't something to just laugh about..
