theres def character development. In shape of adapting to society.
Look forward to it. I know i sound like a fan boy but somehow i'm not too repulse by this surprise. Or maybe because i was thinking of something very negative like spending hundred of chapters to bring back all the old crew. (crew gets separated and they slowly find them and get them to join back plot) .
this is what I was worried about too. How many stories have we all read where the team gets separated or there's a timeskip and it takes dozens of chapters to get everyone back together only for everything to go back to status quo save for some new tricks from everyone. Fuck that noise. Get it over and done with as soon as possible.
Look at it this way, the time skip wasn't there to automatically advance the characters prowess, rather it was to widen the plot. Similar to how Dragonball used the timeskip. From the end of dragonball to the beginning of DBZ, Goku wasn't really any stronger than before. So, bottom line, I'm okay with this timeskip.
