I voted Yes, I *mostly* agree with Katsono that every aspect of life is meaningfully part of the real world, and "boring real life" doesn't really have that many negative connotations--if it's just about how I fill my free time then I'm pretty close to that already and very satisfied.

Like, I'm married, I enjoy the time I spend with my wife, I have a job that pays pretty well and isn't nearly as bad as how most of the internet complains about their miserable jobs. And then most of my free time is spent reading manga and playing games? I would say that to most, my "real life" qualifies as boring because I don't go out and do things. But I just enjoy manga and video games more than going out, hahah

If the question had been "a great virtual life coupled with a real life full of grief/strife" then I would've picked no. But that wasn't the question. The question was pretty fucking benign. So I picked yes! I totally get why extraverts would pick "no", though. Unsurprised that Lemon Ice thinks I need professional help just for being a naturally happy & contented person though, they seem pretty miserable all of the time.

Yeah it's almost cultural to criticise introverts and homebodies, but some people are plenty happy just spending their time, even alone, on a hobby. I'm definitively such a person and the only time I felt ever felt dissatisfied was during my youth, as most other kids and my family would criticize me heavily in that regard.

Likewise there's a lot of criticism regarding the "Internet" (which I assume the poll was mostly about), but you are communicating with real people after all. Them acting different because they are behind a computer (which I don't think is necessarily negative, rather sometimes people are more open this way and yet this is seen as a bad thing or so I've been told before) is not what I would call fake or virtual. There's also plenty of advantages such as extending way beyond your network. Would I have ever met people with the same hobbies IRL? Well it hasn't really happened in my entire life so I'm very happy to have the Internet.

Dude, the question was about whether you could be happy with only your online life. You say you voted Yes, and then you go on about your great wife and job, lol.

I don‘t think you understood the question.

….you wanna seriously argue that humans don‘t need other humans (in real life)?
You sound like an edgy teenager.
