Somehow I think that Luffy won't be interested. Although he IS interested in taking down two Yonkou (Big Mom and Blackbeard)

It'd be interesting if Law wanted to take down Shanks, though I'm pretty sure he knows how important Shanks is to Luffy given what happened at Marineford.

And it looks like that even the World Government has no power in the New World, if a Shichibukai status seems to mean little to nothing there. Though I'm curious as to how strong or hard to reach the Yonkou Law wants to take down is, given that he wants Luffy's help.

Oh, and lmao at Luffy niting off Nami's chains.

Personally, I'm conflicted about Law. I think he's going to use Luffy and eventually will turn on him. After all, he did attack Luffy's crew knowing who they are. It's not like he needed to save face in front of Smoker. I just don't like Law. I hope Luffy just says "Nope!" with that shit eating grin of his and a fight ensues. I wonder what he'll say when Franky/Nami confronts him about being attacked...
Besides that, Law's power(s) is too... broad, for lack of better words. He seems to have many powers for it to be labeled under one power. Maybe he's had 2+ devil fruits? I started reading at about chapter 300 or something, so I don't exactly know all the ins and outs of the devil fruits. Then again, physics don't exactly apply, seeing as Luffy gets hot when he goes 2nd gear or uses that armament and everyone knows hot rubber is very pliable. Maybe I'm just looking too deep laugh

Luffy's techniques are actually pretty clever. Gear 2nd was explained to be an enhancement of bloodcirculation to ensure a better oxygen administration leading to a higher energy output muscle- and brain-wise. It's just like an engine that will heat up if you increase its performance.
The rubber-armament-thing is something called "vulcanization" in chemistry. It's a chemical process to increase durability and resistance of rubber to mechanical forces.

About the chapter: I really liked how Luffy truly advanced his fighting style by using his defense to directly counterattack. The maincharacter didn't get a simple powerup out of the blue like in other series, but rather refined his current fighting style.
I'm pretty curious to what his response will be, but I'm afraid you're right and he'll simply refuse. Quite sad considering how awesome this team-up could be...
Let's hope he'll agree! biggrin

Luffy will have no choice but to accept! Remember that Law is holding his crew prisoner. Sooner or later he's going to use that bargaining chip to his advantage.

This series ... it just never ceases to surprise me. I didn't see Law giving that reason for being on the island.
I think that Luffy will agree depending on who Law wants to defeat, revenge for his brother's death could be a trigger, and like someone said, for the sake of his crew. But then again... this series never ceases to surprise me biggrin

Here's how I think things might play out.

1. Luffy flat out refuses or accepts Traffy's offer regardless of terms.
2. Plan is to fight shanks, luffy refuses.
3. Plan is to fight Blackbeard luffy accepts.
4. Plan is to fight Bib Mom, luffy kinda already started some shit with her and accepts.
5. Plan is to fight Kaido, luffy is indifferent as long as he can help his crew.

I kinda want 5 to happen so we can learn more about him.

I FINALLY caught up with OP and yes, I fangirlishly screamed (again) as Law came to the rescue. I lol'd at Luffy calling him 'Traffy'. I love how Luffy can deflect projectiles accurately with the aim of attacking the attacker.

As for the proposition, I agree with jake174 about point five - I usually forget Kaidou's a Yonkou as well.

I can't actually predict who Law might pick (not Shanks, please, not Shanks) but I really want Luffy to accept the proposition.... mainly so that I can have more of Law. biggrin

Now, on to waiting for the next episode in the anime...
