Hi, I forgot this manga name

The setting is roughly similar to 1800s warfare, where two kingdoms fight against each other.
The protagonist is a reluctant strategist, whose father was a high ranking general punished for being too straightforward. His team was transported to the enemy’s land together with their country’s princess (by sea?). They escaped using a hot air baloon, after which they are rewarded and advanced into officer’s school.

It has a light novel if I remembered well.
