More people need to talk about this.
I haven't read the manga yet, but the first episode sure impressed me in a positive way. I can't wait to see more episodes. I'm loving the pacing, really. 😮

New Anime based on lesbian-themed manga
I hope you all got a chance to check out Aoi Hana, a Yuri anime that streamed here on Afterellen.com this past summer. It's a lovely look at the life of a young woman who will one day call herself a lesbian.
Now there's a new Yuri anime series out! This one is called Sasamekikoto and it's a comedy-drama that parodies a lot of the more typical tropes you find in Yuri manga" the best friend in a hopeless love, the love quadrangle, the cross-dressing boy (unfortunately, that is rather typical), the crazy fan of vaguely-themed lesbian novels, and, surprisingly, an actual lesbian couple (something that is very atypical!)
Afterellen isn't streaming this one, yet - they may if you ask them - but you can still see it for free on http://www.crunchyroll.com/sasamekikoto if you are in the US or Australia.
I hope you'll take a chance on Sasamekikoto. It's actually quite cute - there's even an iPhone/iPod touch app kissing games you can get for free. It's a Kissing Game, when you get to episode 3, you'll understand. :-)
Enjoy!

They really made an anime? Wow... it doesn't take much to get an anime these days, I see.

I love Aoi Hana. My favorite character was Yasuko Sugimoto.

just finished the 11ep anime
i like the character driven aspect of the story as it's written for the anime, it's an interesting difference from plot driven stories
haven't begun the manga yet, but i think the anime will serve as an excellent introduction to the manga
