I don't really follow adaptations' news, but I just found out that there is a movie's adaptation to the great Rurouni Kenshin manga coming out this August.
trailer: http://twitchfilm.com/news/2012/03/watch-the-awesome-new-trailer-for-rurouni-kenshin-in-hd.php
The trailer is pretty good, all (well, most) the scenes faithful to the manga. The only drawback from that little trailer is no blood. I mean i'm not looking for robogeisha/battle royal type, but the manga wasn't without blood. Seems WB is going to pick it up for worldwide distribution.
All in, i'm happy to see one of my favorite manga on screen. 😀

Yep, I saw the trailer a while back, and it looks pretty promising. I do hope they release a subbed DVD soon (theatrical release in Japan in August, I think). Takeru Sato (who is Koyuki in the BECK movie) plays Kenshin.

Wow! I'm so excited! I'm not really a fan of live action but it seems well done. The actor playing Kenshin has a perfect "Oro"! 😀

As much as I like the idea of a Rurouni Kenshin movie, something about the trailer made me feel a bit apprehensive. I won't make any judgements yet, though. We'll see how it turns out.

I'm still confused. Are they planning to make the Tokyo Arc into a movie and then do a live-action TV series for Kyoto and Jinchuu?
A sword is a weapon. Swordsmanship is a way to kill. Whatever nice names you call it by, that is its true nature.

so
not a very good movie
Kenshin himself was kind of bleak
not even a little interesting in his own movie
he looks bored and uninspired
trying i guess to look like he have been through alot...and failing at it
Kaoru was just a pretty face
Sagaras roles is just for laughs
the only actor who kind of makes an impression is the girl playing Megumi
when we have some dead-searious chars like saito hajime
and a kenshins who is trying his best at looking like a man who have worked for a living
and then the moment after we have over the top silly villain and his braindead yesmen doing their best at being silly...
it feels a little weird
could have been alot worse[ranma live tvspecial showed us how awful things can get]

You're entitled to your opinion of course, but about 80% of the RK fandom will disagree with you. This movie is a great adaptation of the manga and gives me some hope for an RK renaissance.
