Yeah, Messi deserves a goal for sure. He's been so close.

Hopefully Mexico will have trouble man marking him, or even better, won't play man marking, but I think they will. The Greeks showed it can be successful in keeping him out of the game

Oh well didn't make a difference at the end

Wrong. It did make a difference. Had it have been 2-2, I seriously think it would have been a different game.

The only reason Germany scored more goals was because most of the England team were trying to get another one back, and they got them on the counter.
They wouldn't have been playing like that had it have been 2-2 is what I'm trying to say.

Although it's always difficult to say what would have happened. Who knows, maybe Germany would have teared them apart anyway laugh

Nah England need to play like a team. That's what they lack. It was nobody's single fault. It's the whole England squad themselves.
Everything went downhill from the very first game XD

I still think Walcott should have been there! I'm not even being biased either! I seriously think England needed pace, and that's what he's got. That is where I think Capello went wrong

Yeah if england got that 2-2 i think it would have been different. They wouldn't have been attacking with so many players upfield just to equalise but, they didn't need to devote so many, they were just down 1 goal. It was a collapse. Why the helll did the manager remove defoe?
I just think they need a team thats alittle more co-odinated.
I don't care what they say about rooney, he played like an average player. How he is one of the world best is beyond me. I think some new talent is needed after the absence of beckham.

Argentina is my biggest fear in this competition but i will support ghana and portugal never the less! biggrin

He took Defoe out because he wasn't doing anything laugh

Rooney played below average what you saying XD Nah man, he played terrible. You watch next season though, he's gonna be a star for Man U all over again -___-'

I'm supporting Ghana as well. I was so pleased they won last night. Good for them.

Germany vs. England tomorrow will be an early final, but I always go for Germany. So my bet is on Germany! cool

Right away! XD

Dont you dare to ever go for me, EVER! laugh

:3

@people complaining about amazing players (like Rooney) doing poorly: playing in a National Team is WAAAAY DIFFERENT than playing in a team where all the players know each other and trained consistently together.

The difference between a good Team Coach and a good National Team Coach is that the latter has to be way more experienced at picking the right players that suit well together, more than choosing the best of the crop. We're speaking about an ELEVEN MEN team here, not just one man or 3 or 5. If they dont link together, they can do as bad as San Marino. Proof is Italy, for example, and another proof is Ghana, or even Algeria (played at least one pretty well) on the opposite side. Of course is somewhat obvious that there must be also a good level of technique, but I could say its almost secondary.

@tactics : But look at the player that replaced him with laugh One that never scores or get close to doing so. I thought defoe looked more dangerous even though he didn't do much at points.

Yeah I don't understand why he likes playing Heskey.
Ok sometimes he creates goals but like you said, he doesn't score himself.
Should have played Crouch with all those longs balls they kept on playing.

yay germany won. it was pretty hard to wait 2 hours till the game start and stand again 2 hours outside with 34°Cin the shadow, but the game was worth it. We all know that we won 4-2 in reality, but who cares?

And the referee errors continue. that goal for argentina should not have been. Before that goal argentina lacked their usual confidence because of those early mexican opportunities, but now everything runs in argentina favour. Pretty frustating for mexico.

Yeah see, see how the wrong decision can change the game?

I didn't see the whole match so I can't comment on how either side played or anything, but I saw Tevez's second goal, and what a goal it was.

Messi got denied again laugh Ah I think he'll score when it matters most.

Damn, Mexico got their asses handed to them on a silver platter...

Also, seem like Germany got revenge for what happened in '66...

I really wish Blatter would stop being an stubborn old fart and just get instant replay already...

Hey, you know it isnt about stubborness, cmon biggrin

Anyway this evening Argentina's first goal was a feat of ungodly blindness from the referee and his assistant. Incompetence abounds, it were in fact Italian referee and sidelines referees. Especially the main one, he is hated dearly in Italy, and lol he went to the World Cup? Makes me want to laugh.

People have proposed the use of technology in game for years (I think 10), and this time FIFA really needs to stop being conservative. They should have allowed the use of technology already; human mistake is too costly this time, and only tech can show a fair game.

Tomorrow is a no-brainer for me; Brazil and Netherlands will be holding hands into the quarter. But yes, anything can happen. (I seriously hope not.)

Mexico, England and Chile were a let down.

Aha you forgot Spain. They are an awesome attacking side. Anyways that Brazil versus Chile game was depressing. Brazil played exactly like how Italy plays, defend in numbers, soak up pressure then counter attack or score goals through set plays like free kicks. I want the old brazil back!! Also Brazi got a pretty easy road to the finals really now, I mean netherlands and after that a semi final versus either Uruguay or Ghana who haven't exactly set the world cup alight. I guess most brazilian fans won't care as long as brazil wins the world cup.
