Fine, I'll happily play my role as the defender of culinary interest.
Avocado (and avocado based variants) get my vote for number one, though I'm also fond of basil-based flavors and tarragon-strawberry.
On the more conventional angle, it's hard not to like coffee in anything.

I want to make avocado ice cream now. Is it just avocado or are other things used for flavor? I can only imagine it as a sort of "original" flavor if it's just avocado alone, due to the creaminess...

hands down CHOCOLATE. Chocolate icecream tastes good with anything..with nuts, fruits, you name it. Although I've never tried it in a float.

Coconut, Vanilla and Mint Chip are my favorite flavors off the top of my head. But seriously, I have yet to come across an Ice Cream flavor that I didn't like.

When I was in Europe I tried this flavor which is extremely popular there - its Creme Brulee. It is completely unique - sort of a mix of custard cream, vanille with a hint of coffee and chocolate flavor. Its totally awesome. Unfortunately I never saw this flavor in US (other than in some international food deli's.
As for US Flavors
#1 Friendly's Blueberry ICE CREAM
#2 Milk Shake out of Chocolate+Strawberry+Banana ice creams 1 scoop of each flavor, is incredibly good. But I only like a milk shake because all of these flavors melted deliciously together and just having hard ice cream of these flavors mixed in is totally different.
