From Folding@Home FAQ:
What's the screen saver showing? Our graphical client shows real time visualizations of the simulations being performed. The molecule drawn is the current atomic configuration ("fold") of the protein being simulated on your computer and the graph on the bottom shows the potential energy in femtosecond increments. We display the protein in a variety of visualization styles and orientations both to get a better look at the protein fold as well as simple aesthetics. The fact that the protein visualization "scrolls" out does not have any biological meaning; it's just a non-CPU intensive and visually appealing way to show the protein.
Yep, looks like mine has multiple chains. There's no connection between all it's parts.

So damn slow...it drives me nuts.
What proteins are you currently working on, guys?

I've got p3040_supervillin-03 going at home (working on my 3rd WU, yay~), not sure what's on the computer at work. No pictures, though, since I'm running the console version.

What the doodle?
I'm doing p3040_supervillin-03 too... How about these numbers: (Run 33, Clone 977, Gen 22)? I guess we don't even do a full protein each time shrug

I've got Run 37, Clone 711, Gen 20. If I remember correctly they run multiple different simulations on the same protein to see different things, plus there seem to be different "varieties" of the same protein.

Question: Has anyone else ever had the folding home thing freeze or have to quit while it was sending information?
'Cos that just happened to me, and I was running a protein that would give me over 800 points... -.-#### Not cool at all, really. And I'm just hoping that it'll end up giving me my points, since that stupid protein took five or so days to fold.
Edit: Nevermind. ^^; Checked the website and got the answer. I just had to wait for it to update.
It's working on the p_3044 Human Hpin 1 mut. on mine right now. Weird thing is it's shorter then the others @ 2000 compared to 5000 but it's taking longer....hmmm.

@xObscurexOmenx - Yeah, my Folding@Home crashes every time I send off a finished WU, but it seems the information is still sent successfully.

It's because the frames for different WU are different

My first WU finished about 8 hrs ago, but it still doesn't register that I did one.
I finished one WU about 7 days ago... still not showing up. What happened?
Oh well, my next WU should finish in about a week... so wish me luck on round two.

Some kind of database error occurred on their side. They acknowledged the problem, but I see no indication that it got fixed. (Still haven't gotten credit for that first WU...oh well)

Can we get a team badge on our profile page or something for signing up?Like a little red star next to our name when we post would be cool! I'm going to sign up anyways, but it would be fun and could convince more people to sign up with the magic of peer pressure and the fear of being an "outsider".
I want stars... 😢

Samething happened here, it doesn't show that I have one on my application but if I go to their website that shows all the finished WU mine appears. It's weird. Anyway I haven't even started on my second WU since all my app shows is that it's always waiting for the core and proceeds to go through steps while not achieveing anything.
