It's helping medical researchers at Stanford study the process of folding proteins, which in turn helps them work on disorders that incorrectly folded proteins can cause things like: "Alzheimer's, Mad Cow (BSE), CJD, ALS, Huntington's, Parkinson's disease, and many Cancers." Though those aren't the only thing the research goes towards. It's basically helping further medical research studies, which benefits many people in the end.

woah, never thought that a manga fan would know about distributed computing. i did a small project on distributed computing on nanohive for my poly final year project. its really interesting since i've never experience it before. well, im happy to join in the team 😀
