So, now it says I have an error (it reads: "CPU - F@H Core Download Error (#17), waiting before retry) and the program doesn't seem to be running (?)... I took a screenshot that you can find here

I apologize if this is not the right place to post this >_> I looked briefly in the folding at home forums and will go look again... but I wasn't used to the setup and was having trouble finding the relevant sub-forum.

If someone posted already about a similar problem, it would be great if someone could link me to it! Thanks for your help.

EDIT: Hmm, reading it again, it says "download error" in that message... so maybe I will just try reinstalling it... sorry for the trouble~ I will post again to confirm that works...

EDIT 2: I didn't reinstall but now it says "downloading new core" so maybe it is fixing itself! Should all work now, I hope A¬_¬)

Seems to me like there were some connection issues, sometimes the servers aren't available, there was a big outage last week... 🤨
Normally the client will keep retrying to download until it succeeds.

Oh, and I don't see a problem with posting in here. For future problems, pasting the corresponding part of the log-file would be helpful.

On that note... it didn't fix. Apparently it somehow never started up properly...

I just ran it as administrator on my computer and all the files (including a log, which had not yet appeared) appeared in the folder. So now, it is finally working A¬_¬; )

I have decided to join after reading a bit about it, although i dont understand it COMPLETELY(about the protein folding being possible using the working unit of the computers) but i understand they convert this energy somehow..so i am joining in.. after i join , how do i appear in the list?

I have installed it and the it was successful, but after that, no windows or dialogue boxes appear... where do i input the team name?

Erm....theres a problem, tiny one.. i just started and the interface keeps blinking..meaning the protein image keeps blinking against the black backdrop o the window...is it natural?

It's probably because your graphics card is causing some problems. Try disabling the protein from showing. Or perhaps consider using the console version of the program
