Joined the team with my PS3, only see two people listed in the manga-updates member page. Hopefully there will be more in the coming days.

Well, the team was only formed about a day ago. We're lucky to already have 3 WU (probably all because they were already partway into a WU and just switched teams in the middle). As for my own contribution, still got half a day to go...I don't have the fastest computer in the world...

But I AM wondering, who is dmp?

Last of all, could anyone make a logo for our team so that I can put it on the team page?

Ah, icic. I'm about 5h and 27mins away from completing my first WU.

Edit: Bah, can't seem to get it working on my PC. Guess I'll just have to use my PS3 more.

That is what I have also.

I seem to be haveing a problem getting folding@home to work. I downloaded the version at the top of the page and besides some the graphical display, everything worked. However it only used one core of my PC. It said that if you wanted it to run on both cores you had to have it running twice, however it refused to let me have two copies of the program running. Then I downloaded the SMP version and it keeps running into an error. And then I fixed it in the middle of writing this post. (I forgot to run install.bat.)

Yeah, mine has 5000 frames as well.

The initial estimate of time for a WU when you first start the program is really bad. Just wait a little while to finish a few frames and then you'll get a more reasonable estimate. (Average for most people to finish 1 WU is about 2 days if you leave the computer on nonstop. Of course, some WU take longer or shorter.)

Yes, after I posted it droped to 3d. Now that I started it up again this morning it said 102d at first and then dropped to 2d. It'll probably take me longer, since I can't leave the computer on all the time. However, I should be able to leave it on alot this weekend.

Oh, just because it says 5000 frames doesn't mean it won't take about the same time as a 2000 frame one. It seems some frames are a lot larger than others. Either that, or one of my computers is a lot slower than the other one...

twxm, glad to hear you got your problem fixed!

Installed and running...

The GUI version doesn't support multiple cores. The console version does, but you need a copy in a separate folder for each core. Details are in the FAQ.

Ok...I have my PS3 set up with folding@home. Now my problem is...it's done with one WU and it won't appear. Someone want to tell me what happened? It's registered under blibli. And I tried looking at the donor statistics and it isn't there.

Just an extra question. Do you HAVE to have internet? Because I only have one ethernet wire in my room, so I leave my PS3 on, while I play games on the computer. I have another questions but I just forgot it...

For your first question, you'll just have to wait for the database over there to update itself. The same thing is happening to me. My first WU finished about 8 hrs ago, but it still doesn't register that I did one.

You just need internet connection to receive and send WU. While it's working on frames, you don't need to connect it to the internet.

Oh okay, thanks. It's amazing how fast the PS3 can work...A LOT faster than my compy 😛

Don't forget that there is a deadline on the WU you put out on the PS3. If you start one on the PS3 and don't finish within 2 days, it won't count. I'm not sure what the deadline for the PC client is or if they even have one.

blibli: Your router doesn't support wireless connections? Or you have the 20GB one?

All WU have deadlines. The ones that didn't don't exist anymore. I'm not sure what the deadline for PCs is though either...
