How old are the characters supposed to be?

Just wondering what grade the main characters are in. They seem to young to be in this kinda manga, but they could be highschoolers for all I know! So does anyone know how old they are?
Glados is a bitch. She made me kill the companion cube, the only friend I'll ever have. 😢

Currently everyone's about 13. If I was at my apartment right now, I could give you an actual age, but all of the main characters are in their second year of middle school, while Shinoura is a first year. I guess if you go back to the beginning, we first met them at around age 10 or 11.

And I agree that the age is a bit... off. I think they should have started in middle school and then been in high school for the current outbreak. But at least Shinoura is a believable character amongst the incredibly improbably ones. 🙄

Wait, if they're in their second year of middle school wouldn't they be around 14? Seeing as how their high school starts at the 10th grade rather than the ninth, and that overall the ages at which they start and end school are different.

2nd year=8th grade. So yes, they'd be around thirteen or fourteen. At the beginning, though, they were about ten or eleven

beginning = 10, after 3 years = 13 (it said shingo is 13 years old...), after 7 years = 20 (it said maaya is 20 years old) so i guess banba and kano is around their age too...

Yeah, Buu, Kano, Maaya are all 20 right now, Green's 19 and I think Lune is 13... it's mentioned later but I can't recall.
