when u try to search for a series it says there was an error or the search option was disabled but if u click "go" again it works. its not a major issue or anything u can still search for series just fine but just wanted to let u know 😀 since other ppl might think its broken. Although does anyone else get that error message or is it just me?! 😕 never thought of that 😲 oh really? 😲 my bad i guess i didnt see the post about it _ nevermind then 😛

This is a known issue, the global search feature is undergoing a fix. (As you should have read)
We know it has been like this for a while now. But it's not that bad. And hopefully Manick will get this up and running some time soon.
So no, it's not just you, and other people might think it's broken that's normal because it really is broken. Just not totally broken.

It's not a bug as far as I know, and yeah, it's been left that way for a while.
It's just the currently nerfed global search, and it's still "broken" compared to when it was not broken/disabled.

Don't think too much of it for now, it'll be re-activated when they get to it.

Technically, it's more "disabled" than "broken"...
The original problem was that so many people used the global search that the server was under too much load...

I concur. At first I thought it was an annoyance, but now I see it as a feature. If you just replaced your error message with "Select Catagory:", no one would realize there was any sort of problem. 🤣

Or they could have 4 different search boxes on the right sidebar instead of 1. It might mean a bit more scrolling for the other links there though.

But who knows how things are arranged for www.MangaUpdates.com v2.0... 😳
