I watched the anime and thoroughly enjoyed it so I have decided to read the manga. I like to jump right into the manga were the anime left of but the series page only says were the anime starts and not were it ends. So my question is should I just start at the beginning of the manga or is there a good jump in place?

Wow. You enjoyed the Negima anime....

I wasn't aware that was possible.

To answer your question, I'm not sure, since after the sitting through the anime I'm too scared to sit down and start the manga, but I've heard the manga is pretty much completely different. You might want to start from the beginning and just bear with it when it comes to the stuff you've seen before.

Start from the beginning.

I, too, am shocked that you enjoyed the anime. But I guess if you actually enjoyed the anime, you'll love the manga- the anime pretty much only contains the bad parts of the series. It cuts virtually everything that's awesome (other than Eva) out of the Kyoto arc so it can have a bizarre ending. The series doesn't even start to get decent until that arc in the first place (IMHO), so I guess you'll be amazed afterwards?

If you really, really, really don't want to start from the beginning, start with volume 4 (the beginning of the Kyoto trip) since that's where things start to deviate. For the most part, anyway, there are a lot of randomly placed episodes in the anime, if memory serves.

Which version of the anime did you see? Was it the first adaptation or the second adaptation?

If it's the first, you can skip maybe until volume 3? Maybe? (Haven't finished the anime since there were too many reasons not to finish. Some more obvious than others.). Although if you did watch the first, there will be some complications as most events that happened in the manga were not even introduced into the anime especially the conclusion of that.

Although if you watched the second adaption (which is completely random and has no affiliation the original manga whatsoever), you'll have to start from the beginning.

Either way, none of the anime series will never even get near close to where the manga sits right now. As well, the anime(s) differ from the manga tremendously and I usually don't watch Ken Akamatsu's anime adaptations because of that.

(Except for the OVA's during the Summer break, and the upcoming OVA's for Negima's the Ala Alba arc which I might watch if good enough)

So either way in the end, you might have to start from almost the beginning where the anime last left off before it begun to deviate

Planning on buying the Negima series on manga, where do I start?
The original Negima! Or the new Negima Neo!

I haven't really watched the anime (and I don't plan to after these reviews haha) so I don't really know where exactly do I start.
