Some speculate that they're being taken to Minato and he will seal the other half in Naruto, but it's never been stated that doing that will help. Especially since Kushina was going to drag Kyuubi back and into her and die with it the day Naruto was born. So... I don't know.

Sakura's job is to keep Naruto alive until they get to their destination. Maybe unleashing the seal will give her a little more chakra to work with, like Tsunade. Maybe.
