Who thinks that kiri dies at the end of the next series (if one is made)?
Personally i don't think so, i truly can't see such a series with those kinds of characters can have a tragic ending like that. I think it was just a cliffhanger to get people to read the continuation series (if he can make one, as he has hinted he does want to continue)

if one is made i hope he doesnt die...........
also shouldnt this be in Double Arts? not shounen/seinen forums?
I think he doesn't die.
I the ''last'' chapter the future El seems to be cured of troi. So if he died it would have to be after the cure is developed. In that case the Gazelle assassins, who want to kill Kiri to prevent the development of the cure, no longer have a reason to kill Kiri, except for vengeance maybe.

true, but one thing that bugs me is "what if the act of finding the cure requires him to sacrifice himself?"
its been eating away at me since that chapter came out, and i know it won't be answered for a looong time ((if it even is answered) cause he'll need to find a new company to hold his new manga series and whatnot

There is an ambiguous narration in the first capter
Quote from Double Arts chapter one, page 21
His name is Kiri. At least in my eyes he's like any other ordinary boy, besides the fact that he's immune to troi. Or at least he was.
It isn't totally clear whether the ''was'' refers to the way El sees him, his troi immunity or his life. So this could be a hint towards his death.

Wait? what the heck?! where did you get the idea he would die?! O.O i didnt get that at ALL from the ending just that the mangaka was gonna continue the story at another time. (Che! wth happened i cant believe it got low ratings) and kyaa so awesome did anyone else hope that they ended up liking each other besides me? i mean i was like AWESOME 😁 and did i miss a chapter or something? O-o
O! i thought it was just her narrating it and didnt think much of it but now that you mention it is starting to bother me T^< He'd better not die!
"Man, because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then he dies having never really lived."- Dalai lama

last chapter showed el giving a narrative about kiri, and that the wording she uses gives a feeling that kiri has died. For example she uses the word "was" instead of "is" and kiri isn't shown at all in the future with el.

Basic english is was means just past tense nothing more than that. However look what Farran Danzel say in ch19 pg16 were he pretty much says "How can there be some ability that can double your strength many times over just by holding hands? And one that is RISK-FREE and INEXHAUSTIBLE? IT'S IMPOSSIBLE..." and that quote is kind of true how can there be no downside to his ability, that's just unrealistic. Like superman has kryptonite...

Exactly, the art was different, but I don't see why it got such low ratings

I loved the art and especially that it had a different fighting style.
but i think the whole dancing thing didnt fly to well in japan 🤢
Also it may be cause they slacked off and just did a bunch of training, so there was a total lack of action, and thats almost lethal to a series in its early chapters, especially when its got the massively long and popular series to compete with

The ending was just a plain mind-screw, if ya ask me. El wanting "the journey to never end" and future(?) El wanting to "Stop the story here" just bodes ill. Of course, I'm pretty sure this is what the mangaka wanted - even if he had to stop the series, keeping up a little healthy speculation helps the odds of the series being revived at some point.
But given that the series looks dead for good ... I know the author wasn't given enough time to wrap up the story, but I kinda wish he'd simply leave it as-is. A simple, optimistic tale about a young boy and girl who have to work together. Even if it weren't given a proper ending, it would still have been better than leaving it with this half-assed, depressing one.
