Has anyone noticed how the translation has become Americanised and more liberal with Mangastream. Am I the only one who thinks that cussing and the way they "Anglophied" the translation has strayed off from the characters expected persona?
And for those who like to get their knickers in a twist, I am not attacking the group. I am grateful for all scanlators for the hard work they do, for Mangas I read and those I don't.

Mangastream is pretty good, actually.
Try mangaburn/mangapanda. Now that's WEIRD translations.
Still waiting for MiB or mangastream to release Claymore, since I can't enjoy when I attempt to read the other version. (which is much faster, but crappier)

I read both mangastream and mangapanda versions and I agree mangastream one is a bit off putting at times (dragon bbq thing was weird in 329) but more understandable at others. Panda though seemed to have more errors and slightly different context at times. I'd say they both have merits and if I had to choose I'd probably stick with mangastream.
I'm grateful for all scanalators and hope we keep getting these amazing manga, but I'd probably advise reading more than one translation to be sure. All that said know that I don't read Japanese so I'm not sure what a direct translation looks like, but I know there is room for interpretation when translated to English.

MS must have got a different translator as they did not use to be like this. You can look at all the early works of FT or Naruto from MS and compare them to the current style. They have anglophied the translation which is really off putting for me as it changes the character completely. Also they began to use heavy cuss words which diverges from earlier works.
I use to only read Mangastream only but recently I include MangaPanda for FT.
The BBQ thing was really odd and the witty extra remarks that Natsu comes up with and swear words, well its just not Natsu and not FT. Also the line "Cool Story" from Orga Nanagear was odd. They just need to add the word "bro" and I would have cracked up.
But like you I am still grateful for the hard work they do.

Don't read Fairy Tail, but they are pretty damn inconsistent. Occasionally there will be a chapter that's reserved and pretty good overall. Then other times you get stuff like this.

Better translation for comparison.
