So, uh. I've watched the anime and loved it, and now I want to start reading the manga, BUT I'm confused because...

It says that the anime ends at vol 5? But didn't Ciel, like, die at the end of the anime? So how come the manga is still continuing on to vol 7? Does Ciel actually not die? I've heard that the anime is also coming back for a second season, so maybe Ciel isn't dead after all. I'm confused. Otherwise, how could the anime's 1st season have ended before the manga ends??? o_0; Unless the manga continues without Ciel in it or something...

Sorry for the (no doubt) stupid question that proper readers will already know the answer to. Please answer and help me. Depending on that, I'll know whether or not to read the manga. I don't want to keep reading it if Ciel's... you know. >_>;

Manga and Anime don't always follow the same story. If the manga is published first the anime will likely catch up plot wise and force the anime to end or develop filler arcs (Naruto and Bleach are pretty famous for having terrible filler arcs - they are not, however, alone. The anime ending at Vol. 5 means that after Vol. 5 of the manga, the plot changes/deviates. It's not uncommon

From what I remember of the few episodes I watched, the anime is very different from the manga -the humour feels more forced.

Thanks, hubris! But I would also like to hear from someone who's watched the whole Kuroshitsuji anime (so far) and has read the manga up until vol 5... If the anime will "catch up" plotwise, then how come that happens to Ciel in the anime before it ever happens in the manga? (Presumably.) I'm such a confused n00b, lol. Any feedback is appreciated!

This is from someone who has read up to the latest of the manga, and watched a bit (+read some wikispoliers lol) of the anime.

Ciel is still alive and healthy, plus doesn't seem like it'll reach that kind of ending anytime soon, IF it does... Although the next arc does suggest them coming in contact or conflict with the Queen and her people...

Actually, there was something between the anime and manga versions that really confused and bugged me too.

For some reason, it seems that the anime was able to know the truth about each of the Phantomhive's servants' former past before the manga counterpart version was even published. So I was kinda wondering if the mangaka was supplying the anime studio with info or something? Or was it just a very very luck guess? 😕

(Personally, I really think the manga is much better and worth a try 😃 )

Don't watch the anime if you want a good story.

The anime was rushed, and quite frankly, shit.

The manga is awesome, however, and should be picked up.

I agree the anime is horrible.

I dropped it but I've watched enough of it to get an idea. It goes in a different direction. The anime only vaguely represents the manga. The idea of Ciel dying shouldn't be a surprise if it happens in the manga. He had doom written on him from the beginning.

I *liked *the anime facepalm It caught the atmosphere very well, and the English words sounded so cute <3 There are so many worse adaptations out there that Kuroshitsuji didn't seem bad at all.

But there are very few similarities between the two; the anime goes off in a completely different direction after first bit. They change up characters and plot.
The manga is certainly superior.

As of the latest chapter, Ceil is still alive and kicking... For now.

YEY HE'S ALIIIIIIVE! /Doctor Frankenstein

Lol. Really appreciate people telling me that Ciel's still alive in the manga. That's enough incentive for me to read it. 🙂 Could anyone also confirm if the manga is any more or less gayer than the anime? Coz the anime was pretty damn gay. 😀 Just curious. 🤣

As far as kuroshitsuji is concerned I think it's best to just ignore the whole anime and go by everything the manga says for the manga is right and knows what it's doing..

I have watched the whole anime and it was amusing and I have yet to read the manga since I hate reading things online but it's being brought out and the first volume is coming out in January >.<.Can't wait to see how awesome the manga is.
