The draw time for bow is near non-existent if you draw into charging. So sheathe whenever convenient.

Fine aim whenever possible of course... If you're bowing something like Plesioth, you should always fine aim unless he's charging around and you are forced to sheathe or just move, in which case you can just charge and fire without aiming. Most monsters have a pattern and there will always be times where you can aim the weak spot. Like teostra's fire breath, or his powder explosion. You do much more damage if you aim at their weak points.

Especially for pierce.

For bow, yes, but you can't sprint and do the superman dive (because you're invincible ahaha...kill me.)

Backstep allows you to move backwards quickly while you're charging your bow, which means that you don't have to shoot, and then move backwards which will get you killed in certain situations.

No, backhop breaks charge, I usually only ise it for oh shit situations where I have to break charge fast.

Humm... A tip that may be useful when you are still in the beginning is having more than one weapon type, later you will fell "Ah if I had some of weapon X too It would be easier" but then it will be....bothersome switching.

Kill him if you want to... Bring poison knives (to nul wind abilities) and also some flash bombs, because if I remeber it correctly he will start using a strong fly move, the trick is to throw a bomb at his front when he uses flying moves

non g daora should be longsworded because you can break head out of aura the easiest.

And bowing tigrex is just... going to take a long time. You can gs him but I'm bot sure if you're experienced enough for that. Best option is to go wailing cleaver shin route and ls him.

For armor you could go with a rathalos soul U, which is easy to farm up if you know the hammer method.

For some extra goodies like sharpness +1 you could always try Ceanataur SU combo foe aome sharpness and stuff. No earplugs on that till you reach G-range armors though. You should try to familiarize yourself with each weapon, as a lot of monsters are easier to kill with a certain weapon.

All crusyaceans are absolutely raped by hammer, for example.
Anyways Garuga is basically a rathian whose foot movement will probably do more damage than his atttacks. What armor set are you going for?

As Klapzi said, dragon weapons are super effective against dragons, and certain EDs like Teostra require dragon damage to break stuff. Personally I went World's End route for GL and eternal sacrifice for DS. Akantor bow is nice too, for breaking teostra's head.

Hunt duration depends on the monster really.
I have 2/3 of my inv filled at all times. 3 comb manuals. paintballs armor charm/talon, demoncharm/talon, potions, mega potions, honey, max pots etc... I leave one column for hunt specific items. Try to always have max healing no matter whether you're BMing or Gunning.

what about how many times your knocked unconscious?
