Hi everyone. There's this manga series I stumbled upon a while ago, but have forgotten the name by now. I'm really hoping to find it again.

It is about a macho, muscle-y kind of guy travelling with a young girl. What I can remember is a bit hazy, so the details might be off a bit. The girl is not human, but a member of a special race that can use magic. She can heal the guy when he is injured, or fuse with him to become a powerful warrior. In the beginning of the manga, they were stranded and rescued by a tribe that resembled beetles. When they found out the duo belonged to an empire that the tribe was in war with, the guy was forced to fight their strongest warrior, and won. I remember there was this part when the girl tried so hard to help the guy, she ended up draining herself and became a little child.
