1. I don't remember the manga at all but sometime during the plot (probs near the end) this guy goes off and joins a japanese priesthood b/c his plot (whatever it may have been) back fired on him. That's the only scene I remember.

2. This is most likely a shoujo, a girl meets these people in a small town that she moved in with with her mom. Her mom works hard but then gets sick, so she works hard. She eventually moves with her dad for a chapter or two, and her new friends feel abandoned. Has a love triangle, chapters were named after seasons and ages (ie summer, 14th b-day or sumthing like that), one of her love interests belonged to some sort of noble family in modern-ish times.

For Number 2...sounds a lot like Sunadokei, which is, indeed, shoujo.

For number 1, the only one I can think of is Hot Gimmick. But don't know if it actually backfired on him... 😕
