Its up to the point where it nears Japans' weekly chapters. Up until a while ago every other month has seen the release of two to three volumes. It makes almost no sense to read the scantlations now, which is sad for me because it means I have to start buying again. Lol I stopped at volume 11.

This isn't really anything new. <_>;;
This explains more. The anime may catch up soon too.

For those too lazy to read: XD

Quote from From Viz

"Our main reason [for the accelerated schedule] was to catch up to the Japanese release schedule to give our readers a similar experience to that of our readers in Japan," Allen said.

Anyway, also says that after volume 45 (released in July) they'll start releasing at a slower pace, I'm guessing this is because they released 11 volumes in just three months. O_o

Stupid question. they did it so you wouldn't have to go to scanlations because Viz was behind by more than a few years. That and Naruto was a safe bet. They could release three volumes a month because they knew they could sell three volumes a month. So yes, you answered your own question.

*now waits for One Piece to catch up.

i think a better question would be: "why does english adapted manga fail so badly?"
well i guess that is a comment made out of ignorance for never ever wanting to touch manga when not in japanese but that is not always possible
okok
the real answer would be: most little kids in the US are too sheltered to read scans. so viz caters to their needs by providing a family-friendly adaption that all ages can enjoy 😉

Well then Naruto shouldn't be the only one receiving special treatment. D gray man, one piece, and bleach should be releasing multiple volumes too. Or maybe they should throw to-love-ru our way 😁

To me because for one it has more volumes than other series other than One Piece. Also because a bigger fanbase and is picking at those loaded pockets of money from the fans to buy the manga. I have no idea what the rate of english releases is for OP here in USA but I guess it isn't as frequent as Naruto.
Simple reason: Viz gains money from frequent releases.
For me, I don't mind. I can't buy them anyway, I'm broke 😀

I agree with money. Plus Naruto is really popular and the fast pace of releases is good advertisement. One Piece is going through the same process in a few months, too.
