the author just kills off the main character though! I figured he would bring Asura back, but kinda sudden for him to just kill off Kurohime like that!

The title of the manga wouldn't be Kurohime if she could just be killed off like that. She'll return.

And it wouldn't be a very good plot twist if she shot Asura. Then what? She kills Benihime and saves Zero. The world is saved. That's like 10 more chapters and the story is over. This makes the story much more interesting 😀
