I think there already is a thread about how do you organize you're manga, but I really just want suggestions from other people.

Anyway, my manga collection has gotten huge and I think I need a better method of organizing. I originally just organized by name of manga. Also are there any programs out there designed for this?

You can organize by genre [set aside shoujos, seinens, etc etc] and in particular genre, set aside alphabetical.

You can do alphabetical [like I do] or by publisher.

No idea. I just go alphabetical. XP; Before I used to just put them in randomly [series organized, but there were all over the place].

yea i have it in alpha too, but that way i have no idea which ones im reading are current or completed lol and I forget to check some manga to see if new stuff come out.

I use comicrack to organize my collection. It acts almost like a music hub (iTunes) but for manga. Good program.

I assume you mean organizing on the computer?

What I do is, I have a big Manga folder. Within that folder is all the series I'm currently keeping track of, as well as a Complete folder where I stash the series I've finished reading, but like enough that I don't want to delete them just yet. I've also got a separate folder for oneshots, because if you read a lot of those, it'd be a pain to keep track of them. If I have multiple series by a certain author, I'll usually create a "Collection (Author Name)" folder to keep them all in one place. Side stories, omake, doujin and other related materials I usually put in that series' main folder. And I also keep a separate folder, cleverly named, to put the series that I don't want other people to know I have. cough Ahem. Yes.

Just wondering, about how many series are you trying to keep track of?

well all my titles are just thrown in manga file and I'm trying to keep track of about 30 titles that are either ongoing or I never finished

I have two manga folders, one on C and one on D. The one on C is called "manga to read" and I keep there all series I've downloaded and that I'll read soon. When I'm done with a chapter/volume I move them to the "manga" folder on D.

Each series has a folder, and there's two special folders: Dropped- for series I'm not picking up again and Oneshots- self explanatory. I used to have the thubnials enabled and for each folder there was a pic of the series.
I generally don't care much about putting them on volumes, I just extract them directly.

i just put a symbol next to a title i haven't read yet, its easy to remember, and doesn't take much to keep up with.
