I'm looking for a manga where the main character tries his best to succed in some kind of activity (usually involving a lot of training, facing stronger "opponents", passionate about what he's doing and so on).

To explain it better, some examples of what I mean:

Slam Dunk
Touch
Eyeshield21
Hikaru no Go
Glass Mask
HSDKenichi
Akagi
Bakuman

Sport/games manga are usually the easiest choice, but anything is fine for me.
Mmm, just to make sure, I don't consider manga like Naruto or Blach and so on in the same category of what I'm looking for... already Kenichi is on the edge^^

You mentioned Touch, have you tried any of Adachi's other manga? Katsu comes to mind as a good fit.

Not sports, but she's definitely trying to succeed and improve her acting: Skip Beat.

I second Crimson Hero.
