Change of Direction

One of my favorite sites is all but gone. Everything but manwha and manhua are gone. All because of the coalition.

They have a survey that they hope will eventually get to the publishers and show them what a mistake they're making.

It's not just Tokyopop... It's the Japanese and English Coalition that was announced not that long ago. They pressured and MT had to give. It's only a matter of time before MF and OM fall as well.

Soon everyone will be going to the pay sites to get their manga since those sites don't care and many people either don't have the manga in their language or don't have the money for it.

One word, boycott.

Let them drown themselves like the music and movie industries. I used the internet to see if all these intellectual properties were worth my support. They now have all lost my business.

Doesn't this all remind you of when the music industry ganged up on Napster ten years ago. LOL, we all know how well that worked out for the music industry. But seriously do they believe they will recoup any of their lost sales with this. These actions will only cost them more money by further alienating their fan base, not to mention the free advertising, and legal cost of pursuing any lawsuits.

Haven't posted in a while.

This came as a shock to me, though I should've expected it. I just hope that I'll be able to find the other free alternative once they shut down all mangareader sites I know of.

Publishers should at least explain themselves, though their explanation would probably be some legal bullcrap. At least tell your whole potential customer base what your're doing. Don't enrage them and hope they'll still buy your products.

These guys are going to kill the industry af manga, because they dont think in the countries than dont have the manga in their language.
Death penality to those bas****s. They dont deserve to live.
So what we got huh? ...manwha and manhua. WTF? I dont even read them.
So million of fans are going to get a kick in the balls only to full some greedy publishers get their pockets full, if they really care bring the good manga to the counties instead of the bulls**t normally they share. So they are going to persue money at our expense.
I dont that fair.

That's a pity....I'll probably end up with no manga, since I can't afford to buy much in my language. Well, I was hoping Real Life would wean me of the habit--publishers forcing me to go cold turkey is rather irritating. none At least the library has some of my favorites.

The wheel has started to spun, not much we can do to stop them. Eventually OM and MF will get taken out just like MT. It's sad, and the publishers are too oblivious to see that most of their western income starts off from scanalations. It's a sad day.

I doubt any of it will be looked at or read anyway.

I'm so mad. I ranted on the survey but in a civilized manner.
I hope they read it because I honestly buy everything I read online but this angers me to no end.
Please, everyone do the survey. Even if they don't read them they will so how many of us there are and how they will need to cater to us at some point.
I'm so angry right now...

I couldn't believe it today. I was in the middle of reading my manga there, and then all of a sudden a page popped up and told me it was removed. When I found out what was going on (because the site wasn't loading at all) I was so freaking pissed off and made sure to write a long commentary on their stupidity.
