Are you overprotective or at least overly eager to protect? Be it friends, family, animals, or even random strangers. How protective are you of the life (yes, the environment is included in that as well) around you? How far does your protectiveness extend?

And to mock Calliber; gee, I'm surprised that no one made this thread yet. 🤣

This is an interesting topic.
Well, I say that I am overprotective, but only towards my family.
Like for example since my mom has keratokonus and can't see that well, when we're outside (headed towards the mall, and even inside the mall, or just outside) I hold her hand, and get mad at her when she doesn't want to hold my hand. She thinks is weird that her 18 year old daughter still holds her hand, even in public. XD Plus I feel uncomfortable that she goes outside alone, so most of the time I try to accompany her, even to a place I don't like, and even if I don't feel like it.
Well, I don't want her to fall, so I don't mind. =3
As for outsiders (people like friends, acquaintances, strangers) I don't care that much. I can see them fall down and I won't laugh at them, but I won't care for them that much.

I am.
And quite a lot...
But mostly only those who deserve my sympathy.
Even strangers.~ My mother always says that I care for strangers too much, and not enough for her... (those who know me'd understand>.>)

I also fuss a lot about animal abuse, and doggie rights.
People notice that as well, and often comment that I'm being too fanatic...
But I am not. I just like talking about it, and showing people how wrong it is to hurt domestic animals, and abuse them all in general.

not really overprotective.not even close to protective ^^
I can't help it, when something happens to someone, I always laugh.I really can't help it..lol, I went to church once (after 3 and a half years of not going) to support a friend 'cause her grandfather died and I went together with another friend. We couldn't look at each other because we always have to laugh, and I really wanted to support the girl.good thing she didn't notice.
Sounds cruel, but I don't mean it that way.

Way too much. Overprotective of my friends. I've often found myself in the middle of fights I had no business being in because I couldn't stand to hear people say bad things about my friends. And I'm even more overprotective of my family. Actually ended a friendship with one of my best friends because of a fight started when she couldn't stop insulting my younger brother (the one who should have just been my twin). 'Course it wasn't the insults that really ended our friendship (not even I'm that overprotective) but the little behind-the-scenes manipulating she tried to do during the fight (everyone in our group stopped hanging out with her after that; everyone saw what she was doing and no one liked her for it). Once completely shut someone up when she made fun of the way my mom runs ("Excuse me, my mom runs in marathons; does your mom do that?") and heaven help the boyfriend that cheats on one of my friends (I'm usually more worked up than said friends). So...um..."overprotective" is probably a nice way of describing me.

I am too.
I always disliked how overprotective my parents are to me, and then I realised I'm the same with them XD

So yes, I'm very protective of pets, family, friends.
If I ever have another relationship with someone they're going to have to be ok with the fact that I'm going to protect them with my life. That's why I ideally want someone with some sort of disability.. I dunno, it just makes me want to protect them more.
But I know some people with disabilities don't like to be protected because they want don't want to be seen as someone who needs to be taken care of because they can take care of themselves.. which I understand.. so it would have to be someone who's cool with my neediness I suppose XD

Still I can back off if need be.. usually >.>

I am. I don't like people messing with people I know and care about. And if I can prevent them from getting hurt (physically/emotionally) then I'll definitely do everything I can to do so.

I'm a fiesty little thing...

Pah, I forgot.I am protective when someone tries to hurt or hurts one of my friends. They're lucky if they're able to escape, last year I beat someone up because she made fun of one of my friends..she came back with a group later though..she only picked the wrong moment to come look for revenge ^^.I was just standing with my older brother and all of his friends ^^.I'll never forget her face ^^.

I'm overprotective of my pets, I've yelled at people for scolding them before. 🤣 And overprotective of one of my sister's a bit. She's a space cadet like me, but worse, so I've always had to keep an eye out for her. Everyone else can fend for themselves.

I'm protective of those who I care about. Actually, even if they're strangers and I see that they need help, I'd willingly give it (within reason). But I wouldn't say I'm overprotective... I'd prolly get annoyed with someone who needs to be cared for and defended way too much.

I'm not overprotective. I think most people can take care of themselves.
If someone wants my help then I'll be there. If someone is in obvious need of help then I'll help.
I'm more protective with people I care about than strangers.
I'm only fairly protective of the environment.

I protect those that can't protect themselves and those that are worth it, I don't help idiots, regardless the shit they are into.

I help people that are worth to be helped because they may help me in the future, after all today you are down, and tomorrow I may be down... however those that will always be down don't deserve to be helped or pitied...

That is my motto

Example: I would help a wounded animal, yet I wouldn't help a person in trouble if they can't even help themselves.

What do I mean? If I see someone getting robbed and they don't do anything to escape or resist then I won't help them, even If I notice it, I won't move a finger.

Same for Girls, if a girl is getting assaulted and she doesn't even scream for help then why I should help her?

Only ones that are always safe in my eyes are children and animals

Well, I tend to weight whatever situation to see if it's reasonable or not. Sometimes I might be protective towards people that are close to me, but that is about all.
