I don't know if anyone ever suggested this or even if it is against some rules, but a scanlation group watching option would be great in my opinion, so that u can mark certain scanlation groups that u usually follow with their releases, and at the "releases" could be a little mark next to releases of scanlation groups that u marked as watched.

Most groups have RSS feeds installed on their sites.

Use those.
