Ancient Aliens

Poll
Do you believe the Ancient Alien theory?
Yes, it explains a lot of the unsolved phenomena today and in the past.
IT'S. A. LOAD. OF. CRAP. The History Channel needs to get it's act together.
Well, it has some merit to a few of it's ideas...
I wouldn't eliminate the possibility of it.
No.
It's a ploy of the Scientologists, why can't anybody realize this! AHHHHHHHSDFBSIFJBWIFNS
Bleh. Who cares.

So yes, do you believe?

I personally do not. Not even the slightest. I am sick of seeing the History Channel rerun this sh*t. To me, it's just a bunch of guys connecting events in history and making very large leaps in concluding that it was caused by aliens.

Anyways, discuss! Or not. biggrin

I'd go with the fourth option, since it does make a lot of sense. I mean come on, you don't just throw it out the window like DorkFishOK at least consider the possibility if you have an open mind.
Hell at one point time I had completely thrown out religion in general as being a load of crap (seriously what good has any religion really done), then I saw this and well now I don't really know anymore.
Using this idea I did kinda figured out almost all of jesus's (only one i've really researched in religion) tricks except for the walking on water.

Is it true? Probably not. Can we completely exclude the possibility? No, I don't think we can say with 100% certainty that aliens never visited earth; although I have no idea why they would come here, or why they would even want to, I do think there must be aliens somewhere. I think it's highly unlikely that out all the billions of other planets in this universe not one of them developed intelligent life-forms.

I actually watch it since I find it quite interesting but I don't completely believe in it so fourth option for me.

Unless the aliens had some sort of self-esteem issue and wanted to feel powerful by controlling us and be revered as gods, I don't think they would've wasted their time with us. Heck, I don't even want to waste my time on us sometimes. none But, since I don't know the thought process of those not from this world, I can't really make any assumptions. 四番目と思う。

i have not seen that many episodes
but most of it is just downgrading human intelligence

its like they cant for the life of them understand what you can do with ROPE
and when they cant get that into their head...why would i even listen to the rest of their insane babblings

it pretty much works like this
Weird object/story
dont think logical
blame aliens
win

what if JESUS WAS AN ALIEN omg omg omg omg
atleast 20k more ppl will watch it...we get one more season...MONEY w00h00

and its not like they actually do any study
its usualy just
believed to be...believed not possible...believedbelievedbelievedbelieved
that is the programs code for...making shit up
coz the sane scientist that have real awnsers are not that fun to talk to

and they dont really question their own idiotic questions
why would aliens be interested in gold
and
i mean if we would find gold on another planet and brought it here in millions of tons a day gold would loose all its worth...gold barons would like that about as much as oil barons like the idea of cars that run on water
same with pretty much everything else
and if you can travel in warp speed
im pretty sure you have mining tech that can just beam shit right out of the rock
and
why is there so many programs on silly things like columbus...and the so called first settlers in north america...no1 cares about that
not other nations and certaininly not aliens

hmm lots of words just jumped out
tl;dr
I dont like this horrible program

I prefer Stargate
they have better awnsers and ask better questions than this program does

Hrm, maybe I should have put in other options such as "I believe aliens exist, but I don't believe they visited the earth" and so forth. However, the Ancient Alien theorists don't just believe aliens exist, which I do think is a logical assumption, but that they've visited the Earth and ancient civilizations took them to be gods and goddesses and that they had and have a hand in carving out the events of human history. I don't mean to sound explicitly derogatory, but it is one of those cases where it's like, "it can be proven but it can't really be disproved" because nobody at the present moment can travel back and time and see for themselves. I usually go with the more simple explanations, such as the ancients developed gods and goddesses to explain the natural phenomena of the Earth. Ancient aliens are theorized with human bias, like the oval shaped skulls found in South America are supposed to be that ancient civilization's way of imitating those aliens that came, but how could they possibly know what aliens really look like? How can they make that assumption that they're trying to make themselves look like aliens when it's just a human, pre-conceived notion that aliens would look like that. I feel like it's too far of a leap. Sure it would be wise to not eliminate that possibility but it's far below in probability... I think anyways.

Well, I suppose I believe in it in the same way that I believe in the possibility that I will wake up tomorrow with a set of gills and a pair of wings and will be able to lift things 1000 times my own body weight.

There's no way to prove that something that awesome won't happen to me tomorrow, but experience tells me that chances are pretty low.

So low that it's probably easier for me to just say that no, I do not believe in it.

Wow, it looks like everyone who choose not to believe it at all picked some of the reasons why it would be hard to believe. or maybe they didn't see all of them, i'll admit that the first two or three episodes did make a lot of sense, but every episode after just made it seem more unbeliveable (a good example would be noah's ark being connected to some type of essence storage device, then using a modern day version to clear it).

The idea that made this really seem believeable to me had to be the events that surrounded noah, since (don't know if true or not) noah was apparantly a testube baby and was created to look more human than the people around him, in that part of the world anyway (for whatever reason the people at that time looked more ape like than a human was supposed to). I don't know if you'll believe it or not from my post, so I would recommend you watch this part and see if it makes sense to you.

Using their theiory on noah, I ended up coming up with a theiory of my own that may or may not sound possible. Basically the idea is that there had to be some kind of force that created humans (whether it's gods or alians), since our very existance makes very little sense. I mean yeah i'm preatty sure that anyone that went to sience class in school can tell you that humans evolved from monkeys, and anyone that spent their whole life in church will tell you that humans are decendents of only two people (and get this their white.....yes apparantly the entire human race decended from a couple of white people.... yeah i'll belive this when the first paragraph from crau's post happens to me laugh ). I'll go with the monkey idea and say this if humans really evolved from monkeys or apes then why do both monkeys and apes still exist today, so I don't know if science is wrong but all the species of animal that evolved from another animal that animal that they evolved from no longer exist. A good example would be there are elephants but not mammoths, their are crocodiles but not T.rexs. Another reason why I think there is force is that for some reason unlike any other animal on the planet humans are the only ones that seem to push away from nature, example being that were not always thinking of survival, so this eleminates ants who also act a lot like us.

okay well, that's it for my theiory I hope it made some sense as to why I think aliens might have something to do with us, and as i've stated before don't just throw the idea out as being complete crap consider the possibility at least. biggrin

Humans didn't evolve from monkeys and apes, you misunderstood Darwin.
