Yaaay! So it's been announced in the August issue of Newtype that there will be a second season of Haruhi Suzumiya ^o^/

I tried to avoid the craze that anime started, but it ended up being too funny to avoid. Im excited about it, but I wonder where they will pick up, seeing as first season kinda mixed bits here and there, with some episodes being way further along in the story line.

That's kinda cool... It doesn't matter that much to me even though I do call myself a harutard. But after all, all the awesomeness I need is in the novels. I don't need to look much further.
Although I'm having high expectation of the second season. But it can't change my overall opinion of haruhi. I just wonder what parts will be covered in this second season...
Anyone want to make guesses on what novels might be covered?

This time, they'll have the first six episodes, and they'll take those, they'll flip the picture upsidedown and play them backwards and broadcast them as the last six episodes and it'll all make perfect sense.

(I think that "Harutard" is kind of degrading term such a great series Stealth. I'd say that you're a "Haruhiist" instead...)

As always, the Japanese made what I thought to be impossible possible: to have a good series that is complex and funny at the same time. And considering the huge impact that this series have had in Japan to have a second season is of no surprise. (Seriously, this show had a great success with only three episodes aired. In fact, I've never seen so many doujinshis released in such a short time after the anime ended (I think I saw a few hundreds only in the week the anime first season's closure), an indisputable proof of Haruhi's fame in Japan, I believe.)

If it's degrading to the series, I take it back. But if it's degrading to me that was intended. I don't possess all my mental abilities anymore when Haruhi is involved, it's scary but we learn to enjoy it lol.

As long as the episodes follow the novel's outlined story, the series should do just fine. The novels always kept me readin' more haha...

This is gonna be so great! Been waiting for confirmation for a long time now, the novels are amazing. Its meant to not be in order just like the novels arnt but they will have to dedicate a whole season to the 4th novel : haruhis Dissapearance as thats been one of the best novels ive read so far.

I agree that the 4th novel was awesome but I just can't see it being turned into one season. at least not the next one.
First Haruhi doesn't have that much airing time on it. Which is kinda sad for a season of Suzumiya Haruhi right?
And second, they need to get to the events in bamboo leaf rhapsody before they can do that. At least those are events that they probably can't invert chronologically, and even if they do they can't place each one in a different season.
So either they place the 4th novel as 5~8 episodes in a season, but that feels like it's not enough for that one. Or it just can't be in the next one imo.
I'm not sure I got the message through though. I have a harder time to express myself these days... weird.

Yeah i agree that it shouldnt be in this season, alough perhaps it would make a nice cliffhanger for end of season. it really needs quite a few episodes to get the whole thing down so hopefully well be seing a few more season of haruhi in the future.

The show requires quite a bit to understand. There're so many levels to it... I recently watched it again... and I noticed some stuff that now makes sense... that didn't before. (Or I'd just ignored it)

I don't think this is much of a spoiler, but it relates to why Nagato was seen attacking Mikuru.

I didn't notice before why they were really attacking each other. I kinda shrugged it off... but it turned out at that time, Mikuru's contacts actually shot lasers. XD Hahah... wow. Just reading the novels and rewatching it.. it makes so much more sense. Whee...!!
