So, I will be in Singapore from November 25 - 29... (running away from the family... not in the mood to spend Thanksgiving with them)...

Anybody living in Singapore on this forum? Any suggestions of places to go?

I would really like to go to an expensive restaurant two of the four nights I am there... expensive as in the dress code requires a blazer/sports jacket, slacks, and possibly a tie (purposely made my boyfriend by a new blazer, etc.)... and I would like to go to some nice clubs/bars at night... any suggestions on places to go?

Also, suggestions for the days?

Nights:
-You absolutely HAVE to go to Zouk. There's a reason DJ magazines consistently rank it among the top 10 on the planet. 3 main rooms, Zouk for the Progressive House and Minimal Techno, Phuture for the Trip-Hop and Drum n Bass (depending on what day), and Velvet for more experimental Dubstep and IDM... there's also a restaurant and wine bar... weekends only, though.
-Ministry of Sound, located in a nice place called Clarke Quey , which is also packed with various other clubs, bistros, bars (just make sure you avoid Hooters).
-There's Centro and Embargo at the Fullerton Hotel.
-Cafe del Mar at Sentosa (yeah, same one as Ibiza) that plays rather good acid jazz and chillout music in the evenings.
-Other notables are Gotham Penthouse, Jazz@Southbridge, The Fashion Bar (models everywhere, but rather poppy music), Thumper, Coccon (with the popular Madam Butterfly restaurant on top of it) and Attica (depending on your choice of music)

I'm not really into the rock/metal, headbanging, dandruff infested places, so you're on your own there.

There are a few more invitation-only one's that are pretty awesome, but you mentioned bringing your boyfriend, so I couldn't care less about taking you to those =P

Days:
I dunno... I'm either at work or in bed while the sun's up.... There's Sentosa island (where Cafe Del Mar is located) which has the Aquarium (Underwater World or something) and a host of other stuff. Orchard Road for all the designer shopping (if you're the fickle type, you'll probably lose a few grand in your first 200 metres..... or at least that's what happens to my overseas fashion victim friends when they come here).

Hope that's enough to get you started.

Don't litter, btw... all those rumors of massive fines are absolutely true.

😀 Thanks! I actually did a couple of the places you suggested... wish I had unlimited energy... but all the walking during the day... plus the humidity... really tired me out... so one night of partying really was all I ended up being in the mood for. I had an awesome time in Singapore. Love, love, love the urban planning! Impressive! Makes me want to get a job there... only problem I have... is that I love living in my 3000 sq ft house... the thought of seriously downsizing my living doesn't appeal to me... hmmm.... I guess Americans are just programmed to live big.
