mmm since once you obtain "one piece" you become "pirate king" maybe is not quite a tangible treasure but more along the line of: If you follow my path and outdo me, you will stand at the top. This lines coming from roger of course. And as far as the wealth- when u become such a big pirate im sure you would have saved money

Oda has already indicated that he intends OP to be about 1000 chapters, or there abouts, as he put in at the end of one of the chapters in the early 500s that OP was halfway done.

And I think I stated this before but a "one piece" in Japanese is a dress. So how can anyone else see Oda making Gol D. Roger a closet okama and the "One Piece" being his favorite dress?

It is difiicult to even imagine what it could be, because there are many things it could be. Maybe it could be one of the things other people have mentioned or all of them together. For me I believe it might be the place where the written history of the lost century resides, or the place where some of the hidden super weapons are, those that are not inside persons like the mermaid princess. Maybe the treasure is the adventure itself and the expirience gained from it, don't forget the series begun with romance dawn as first chapter.
