So I just finished reading Old Boy - btw I liked it very much - but there was a thing bugging me. So Eri stil has that hypnosis with the password thingy and in the epilogue it shows a "last" gift from dojima where there is that song playing (A town in full blossom). The next page shows a woman jumping and the goto waking up in his bed with eri next to him. So what's the deal, was it a dream with his fears... Because when they are listning to the music it's obvious that eri is affected (the whole eye changing thing) If anyone can clarify or even share his thoughts, I d like it.

I think the mangaka was forced to finish. Either that or he is really stupid. Password and Eri is one thing, but to explain the grudge against main hero just because he cried during the song? After all these talks about perversion that would not exist if main hero (still cannot remember his name) was not around? And what the deal with teacher, why did Kajima disliked her? I would not even call it loose ends it was more like a black hole... If there was a vote about worst ending the Old Boy would be main candidate. So much noise and such a little effect.

Well the last few pages depict a nightmare. A nightmare in which Eri kills herself after hearing the song. Now, this nightmare may have spawned from the suspicion of the hypnosis that was placed on her. I agree with PhoenixRe in the sense that it was forced to end because there were some loose ends.

The ending reminds me too much of the way Doubt (TONOGAI Yoshiki) ended, ambiguously. I guess the ending is really left to the reader to assume what happens.

Overall I liked it, and the ending wasn't all that bad, I've seen worse -_-
