Truly a sad message. Goodbye to one of the more consistently cleanest groups I have seen in the last 2 decades.
well, just for information, i rarely (or maybe didn't recognize) read their releases this past years mmm...
but i do know that they are a great scanlator group with long "playtime" mmm...
sure is really sad knowing one of senior group closing its door mmm...
*anyone knows about what happened to SnoopyCool~? they said they're not closed yet mmm...
I will change this world mmm...
So the world can change me mmm...

It's just a matter of time before they(VIZ) contact MS & Bink.Sad to see another scanlation group closes its doors due to legal issues 🙁

MS should really be given a pass because they only host the latest 4 chapters or so and don't represent a direct competition to anything Viz has in the pipeline (unless they're planning on getting into the speedscan business themselves, which would suck considering how far they go away from the original translation). If necessary scanslation will retreat back to the depths of IRC where the guilty parties are anonymous, but hopefully that doesn't have to happen.

they might just be hosting the last 4 chapters BUT!! their releases are available throught the whole internet.
you can get every single one fo their releases they ever made.
i guess VIZ will not tolarate them for that reason alone.

It's nearly impossible to remove stuff from the internet, if there's demand, there will always be at least 2 new sources for every source that closes.
Also, I didn't know that group, but they probably scanlated tankoubons, I assume they want to punish tank scanner much more than WSJ scanner, or at least get them first.

Now that there will only be 5 different versions of each Naruto chapter available on the internet, people will HAVE to buy what Viz is selling!

we are doomed!!!!!!!!
if there is an option between "to do" and "not to do", I will always choose the latter.

I wasn't reading Naruto, but still I was sad to hear that a long-standing scanlation group had to close down because of lawsuit threats. What these publishing companies don't get is that if it weren't for scanlators, a lot less people outside of Japan would know about (and buy) their manga. Personally I had never considered spending any money on manga before I started downloading and reading them from the internet. Of course I don't buy everything I've read online, partly because many of them are never published in English and partly because I can't afford it, but still it's because of scanlator groups that I started buying manga at all. And in such long series like Naruto, a lot of fans are bound to lose interest when one has to wait for ages for the next volume to come out. Publishing companies should keep in mind that scanlators are also fans, and by attacking them they attack their own target group.
