Publisher Shueisha has revealed confirmation that writer Yuu Sasuga and artist Kenichi Tachibana’s sci-fi action manga Terra Formars will be getting an anime TV series and OVA. The acclaimed manga premiered in 2011. It tells the story of human soldiers sent to Mars to exterminate highly evolved cockroaches that were initially sent to the planet centuries earlier to terraform the planet for eventual human occupation.

Terraformars Revenge TV Anime Premieres in April 2016 With New Staff
This year's 50th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump magazine is revealing on November 12 that the Terraformars Revenge TV anime sequel series will premiere in April 2016.
The magazine is also revealing the staff members for the new season, who differ from the first season's staff. Michio Fukuda (Hyakko, Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan: Demon Capital) is taking over for Hiroshi Hamasaki as director at the studios LIDEN FILMS and TYO Animations. Cagetzu Aizawa (Rage of Bahamut Genesis sub-character designer) and Atsushi Ikariya (Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works, Fate/Zero, Harmonie) are designing the characters, and Naruhisa Arakawa (MAOYU, Kingdom) is taking over for Shogo Yasukawa to handle the series composition.

Terra Formars Gets Original Anime DVD in May Adapting Earth Arc
The 2017 combined third and fourth issue of Shueisha's Young Jump magazine is announcing on Thursday that a limited edition of the 21st volume of Yū Sasuga and Kenichi Tachibana's Terra Formars manga will bundle an anime DVD when it ships on May 19. The anime will adapt the manga's Earth arc. Sasuga and Tachibana launched the Earth arc in with manga's 18th volume (pictured at right), which shipped in Japan on August 19. With the new arc, Sasuga and Tachibana renumbered the chapters starting with chapter 1. Shueisha published the manga's 19th volume on November 18.
The deadline to order the limited edition of the 21st volume is March 23. The limited edition retails for 3,500 yen (about US$30). The anime bundled on the disc will be about 26 minutes long and is titled "Born to be Guardian Tatakau Riyū." The limited edition will also bundle a bonus sticker.
