Sui Ishida is ending the Tokyo Ghoul manga in its 143rd chapter in this year's 42nd issue of Weekly Young Jump magazine on September 18. Shueisha will publish the 14th and final volume of the manga on October 17.

The dark fantasy manga is set in Tokyo, which is haunted by mysterious "ghouls" who are devouring humans. People are gripped by the fear of these ghouls whose identities are masked in mystery. An ordinary college student named Kaneki encounters Rize, a girl who is an avid reader like him, at the café he frequents. Little does he realize that his fate will change overnight.

Ishida launched the manga in Weekly Young Jump in 2011. Shuhei Morita (Freedom, Kakurenbo) is directing a television anime adaptation at Pierrot this summer, and Funimation is streaming the anime as it airs in Japan.

Wait whaaaat? That seems rather abrupt seeing at what point the manga is at, at the moment with several points still unexplained.

This is surprising. A sequel is probably on the way. I choose TG: Rezurection. The series has found success and the currect chapters can´t be resolved less then a volume. All that worldbuilding can´t be wasted space. And in Tokyo Ghoul Jack is just bad.

Nah, Kaneki isn't going to die. I hope we get the continuation soon, though. Cliffhangers suck 😢

WHA? I think it would be amazingly stupid if he ends this manga like that ._. It's unlogical. Unfinished and disapointing. If Sui not that stupid (i'm sure, that he's not) he will continue this manga soon.
We still need to figure out a lot about Kaneki, and we still need to know more about Uta-san! It can't just end like this. 80lvl of disapointment 😔

The new series is starting to adress the timeskip in vague terms. Just wait and read. TG: RE is basically Vol.15 and still going strong.
