Just read this chapter and I thought it was great but I have one simple question: IS IT EVER GOING TO END?
I mean the couple of last chapters felt like the story was wrapping up but chapter 281 felt strangely like the beginning of a new arc in the story, one that might take a LONG time to end (with Harima finally choosing someone)...

Maybe it will be a mini arc? There is still somethings left, only Tenma part of the story seems to be concluded.

Still, to be able to see Yakumo showing her feelings was interesting. Still, as long as Harima doesn't realize her feelings I think Eri has the upper hand (reversal can be anytime now...).

I don't want school rumble to end yet, the story looks interesting lately

I guess it could still go either way. There was pretty much an obligation to resolve Yakumo's side of the plot, so this doesn't necessarily mean she gets the good ending. At the very least, Harima is a man of his word, so if he gets engaged, I find it hard to believe that he wouldn't go through with it unless Eri cancels the engagement.

I could see an ending in 20 or so chapters, depending on how long its dragged out. The end is definitely near though, perhaps it'll be chapter 300 for even number's sake?

This is what I was hoping for. Not the possibility of Harima ending up with Yakumo, but for Yakumo to finally get some spotlight. She's been pretty much non-existent for a while now and with no resolution with the whole Harima thing. This chapter finally opens the door for a resolution to occur, it has to happen in order to fairly end this manga. Sure, there are other small loose ends to tie, but the big one is who is Harima going to pick. I'm still leaning towards Eri since, well, they're engaged. However, unless Harima is in denial and is good at hiding his feelings, I still don't see this engagement thing as anything more than a ruse so a friend (Harima) can help another friend (Eri) stay. If they go through with the engagement, I think it's likely that Harima will finally fall for Eri. However, if Harima is only doing this so Eri can stay, would he be able to go through with it if he starts to fall for Yakumo, or will Eri be able to go through with it if she senses that Harima is starting to fall for Yakumo? Or, will Harima reject Yakumo's feelings and finally fall for Eri, and make this engagement thing more than just a ruse? This is the first time in a while that I am really anticipating the next chapter of School Rumble.

I love how the way he's living now is as if he's married to both of them.
