has anyone seen the live-action movie of Shamo?......if so is it worth me watching it....or should i just take a pass on it?

I've only watched the first ten minutes so far, but from what I've seen, it seems to stay true to the manga.

Greatly diverges from the manga, but still really good in its own right.

Looks like Ill be seeing a movie later thanks for the link.

ugh!! this movie irritates me
the directer clearly just wanted to make big bucks with flashy scenes
the manga shamo is so much more different
and tell me why in the movie Ryo all of a sudden falls in love with a prostitute this shit is stupid

the manga is one of the most authentic manga ive ever read
the movie is just a quick flashy movie for random people to see.

It is very different in tone. They make the anti-hero a hero.

On the other hand, it is a pretty decent martial arts movie. Just be aware that you will be watching a completely different story. If you like oriental martial arts movies as much as I do, you will have a good time. If you do not care for the genre, then don't watch it.

If you want a movie from manga that is true to the source watch "Ichi the Killer."

I think it'll be worth my time.
