The wraparound jacket band on the fifth volume of Ryuta Amazume's Nana to Kaoru manga is announcing this week that an anime DVD and a live-action project are being made. The anime DVD will ship with the limited first edition of the sixth manga volume on March 29, 2011. VAP's Tokyo Shishunki division will produce the live-action project, which is expected to be completed in spring. More information about the projects will be posted on the Young Animal Web site and Tokyo Shishunki website, respectively.

The OVA is a good idea, but a Live Action movie wont be good. Real life characters can't give back the atmosphere of the manga. And they can only make an adult movie because of the sm scenes.

Yea... the OVA idea is great, but the live-action is obviously a disaster.

How do they chose the actors? Okay that the asians look young, and for me is hard to tell how old are they. The only live action movie that i wait is the Bubblegum Crisis in 2012. Hope they wont ruin it.

The OVA would be a good watch, but the live action just sould lake a bad idea waiting to happen I meanwill they even be able to find people young enough to play the parts but not too young at the same time

I think live action will show a different perspective of the manga. adhering to the manga will make the live action redundant to the anime version.

What i expect for the l live action is to explain s/m for its romantic and artistic sides, making s/m not just a staple for adult movies but a form of expression

Just looked at the trailer; I agree, this isn't going to be any good. The fellow playing Kaoru is too tall and the girl playing Nan is only cute not beautiful. Plus, there's the fact that doing it with live actors is going to make it too "real" - a big part of the charm of the manga, for me, is the fact that it doesn't make me feel as if I am intruding on a private moment.

Live action....wow just wow i got nothing to say -.- the actor acting Kaoru is just a misfit for one and doesnt have a unpopular guy look but when he was going to rope the actress acting Nana i was like atleast he nailed pervertish part and the actress really doesnt give the vibe nor has the right looks
but the ova might be something to look for

the guy should be shorter thn that...he is taller thn the lady in the live-action.
