I googled the manga on japanese sites and still have no idea if the manga in canceled or just on a hiatus ? Does anyone know ?

Since I haven't been following the manga, I can't say for sure (the web site doesn't mention dropping the series), but the reviewers on amazon Japan seemed very hopeful about the release. The author seems prone to let several years pass before publishing a new volume (volume 2 was published in 2005, but volume 3 didn't get published until 2009). One reviewer complained about the long waiting time, but as they gave no indication that they think it was dropped, I wouldn't either. Wikipedia Japan said that the series will be finished in 4 volumes. I hope that helps.
