Oh man, that's classic. I am still on the "lets-get-to-Fishman-Island-already" boat, but I really enjoyed this chapter. Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji showed us a little of their improved skill. I loved how easily Luffy dodged the Pacifista's beam and then called him slow. Cool headed Luffy gets my seal of approval.

Also, Luffy declaring to Rayleigh that he's going to become Pirate King was awesome. He always says it, but this statement seemed different from his other "I'm going to become Pirate King" statements. Maybe it's just me, but I thought this statement was more along the lines of "I wasn't ready before, but I'm ready now Rayleigh." It just felt more meaningful.

I had to read this a couple time's. Just so much awesome stuff packed into this chapter. I can't wait for next weeks chapter to see everyone together again.

Yes, finally the fake straw hat got smashed in the face XD
I just luved how the pirates were shocked that luffy looked like his poster haha
and I can never get enough of the zoro/sanji duo, they always make me laugh "Hey luffy your #9" lol

One Piece never ceases to amaze me. This one chapter really brought back the action I've been missing.

when i read the part when luffy declared that he would be the pirate king for the 300 th time i cried as much as when ace died, but not as much as chapter 430. thats the chapter of merry's funeral...i cried for an hour literly and then continued reading sniffling. that was expertly writen. i still cry a little when i remember the snow memories....wahhhh.....

Have you guys noticed Oda's marvelous talent of story telling.

He introduced Haki bit by bit from hundreds of chapters ago (some may say from the beginning) to the point where nobody would feel it is a deus ex machina for Luffy or some lame plot device (ahem.bleach.ahem)

Heck, I don't think anybody would say he "added" haki to the story, it was there from the beginning and he just told us about it.

Agreed. He may not have had a name for it back then, but he had at the very least planned for there to be a power like that. He just recently explained its full power, and was probably working out all the details of Haki little by little.

He has the entire story planed out. Thats why the quality hasnt declined unlike Bleach.
Now Im just waiting for the SH to run into the Amazon Pirates just for Sanji's reaction 🤣
