Gintama Anime Draws to a Close
This year's 17th issue of Shueisha Weekly Shonen Jump is reporting on Monday that the Gintama television anime series is drawing to a close on TV Tokyo after five years. TV Tokyo, the primary broadcaster of the anime and one of the copyright holders, had not stated before that it was ending Gintama. The 252nd episode is titled "Gomen Nasai" (We're Sorry), although last week's next-episode preview listed the title as "To Be Determined."
Starting on April 2, the animated television series Gon will air on TV Tokyo at 6:00 p.m. on Mondays — Gintamas current timeslot.

Isn't it just that the anime is running out of material and needs to let the manga speed ahead, just like when they did the previous break?
I sure hope they come back as Gintama** ' '**.

It started out with a couple of weak arcs after that long hiatus
the only funny episodes of this last season was when the shogun was learning how to ski
and thats it
atleast thats the only 2episodes i laughed at...the whole second season
the prison arc was so bad i started to consider never watching gintama nor read the manga ever again[not to mention the horrible arc with Otoses past...not something they should be proud of...not the mangaka either]
i hope they dont bring it back anytime soon
give it atleast 5years so they can have something to work on from the manga
