Just wondered if it was possible to have a short "Anime Availability" or some such box, which updaters can edit. It basically means if there's an anime of the manga, or not. Basically like a "Completely Scanlated?" or "Licensed (in English)" box, where two options are possible; yes - no.

And if that happens, I'd like to be able to have it implemented in the Search function as well. To search for manga that have a respective anime of a similar name.

Aside from the second suggestion...wouldn't the "Anime Start/End Chapter" already work for the first suggestion?

But the 'anime start/end at chapter'...doesn't really indicate if the series is sub or not, (or licensed) considering that's what Doc means? Even though we can tell if there is an anime or it's completed or not, the information here isn't sometimes accurate on anime, but I guess that's what updaters are for.

What doc meant was a field where we'll know whether a manga has an anime adaptation, the license/subbed was just an example...

And what I meant was that if the Anime Start field has "Starts at Chapter 1" written on it, it means there's an anime otherwise it just says N/A

Yeah, that's what updaters are for, if the current one doesn't get updated the same chances goes for doc's idea as well.

Yeah, but people feel more inclined to just place a simple 'yes' instead of looking for the manga chapter where the anime begins at. 🤣 Which is usually chapter 1, anyways. Hmm, I just don't think it's used frequently.

The second suggestion is more important though. I'd love to search for new anime by means of the Search function in the extensive database that MU has.

I'd actually love a feature like the first suggestion. There are many mangas that don't have an anime series but do have an OAV; if there was an anime box, it could be check marks such as: Movie, OAV, Anime Series

Yeah, but people feel more inclined to just place a simple 'yes' instead of looking for the manga chapter where the anime begins at.

This is very true... I've found several N/A when I know there is an anime version available; I don't know the chapters myself, but if I was looking at that manga I know I'd love for someone to have just confirmed that there is an anime. Also the anime may not clearly correspond with the anime, and OAVs may be completely different and not part of the manga at all; in that case, chapters wouldn't be applicable, so you'd see N/A and think there wasn't an anime/OAV.

But the anime start/end chapter is definitely better than nothing.... which is what I thought we had until I read this XD I'm such a ditz. Also, it looks like people add a note that there is an OAV using that section... but overall, whether there is an OAV or anime series of a manga is of more interest to me than chapter correspondance with the anime.

Second suggestion, not sure what you mean. MU, you mean this site? The extensive database has manga rather than anime. Do you mean search in the way that you can click on a certain genre and see all manga of that genre (so in that case you'd see all manga that have an anime counterpart)?

For example I'm looking for a romance + comedy manga sans any fantasy whatsoever, then I'd like to be able to make use of MU's extensive database to find one.

Check the boxes of "romance", "comedy" and 'decheck' the box "fantasy". And then implement another option that you can click named, "has a streaming media counterpart" or some such. There you go! A list of anime that you can look up.

I'm fully aware that MU is manga-based, but this is only a small feature that would accentuate MU's usefulness in my opinion.
