Means your list doesn't have a series with all the genres you used...
Say you checked shounen genre...then it shows all shounen genres regardless of the other genres like shounen-comedy-romance-drama, shounen-romance-drama, shounen-action, shounen-action-adventure, etc...
On the other hand if you check shounen AND comedy, it'll only show manga that has both...like shounen-comedy-romance, shounen-comedy-action, shounen-comedy-adventure, shounen-comedy-romance, etc...
There's is no manga that has say both Shounen and Shoujo genres and this would give you no series match.
If you just want to find manga with genres to add to your listjust select "show all manga" with the genres you provided
Simply put, you were either too specific that no manga fit with all the genres you crammed in or you just don't have a manga with the genre you wanted in your list.
Let's take the manga Black Cat for example, it has the Genres Shounen-Action-Comedy...so if you check Shounen, black cat would show as one of the results, If you select Shounen-Comedy, Black Cat would still show as a result, but if it was Shounen-Comedy-Horror, Black Cat would no longer show on the results.

I'm looking at Hanazakari no Kimitachi e off of the completed list of series stats. for an example. It is labeled as comedy, drama, romance, shoujo, gender bender, and school life. I put all of those into the green side of the genre filters. And i also check the show only mangas on my completed list. It doesn't show. However If i select the search all manga in the same section it does show... why is that?
I'm looking for manga that are currently complete and new to me to read and i am trying to do that with genre filter. Does it mean that i can;t do that at all since it only specifies complete series that are listed in my list?

It means that Hanazakari no Kimitachi e is NOT in your completed list...
I see that you are actually looking for manga that is completely scanslated, not manga that is in your completed list...
In that case, select genres, then in the extended option select "Only show completely scanslated manga", the other options just leave them at "show all"...
The completed list, reading list, wish list, etc... are another feature on this site where you list down what you've read, currently reading or want to read. I suggest you explore it and the other features of this site. Or just go to the FAQs section:
