Really Oda? After that epic Gear 4 revelation in the last panel you just casually taking a break next week?! What a boss!

Maybe not a boss, but an ass, he just casually mentions gear 4 and then you read the announcement and despair.... This has to be one of the biggest cliffhanger you can leave someone on.

First of all preparation for a climax chapter need time and do you want your writers to die of overwork:

He wakes up at 5 am, works until 2 am (21 hours!) and sleeps from 2 am until 5 am (3 hours) on an average day.

This is inhuman as even my Miura "only" works for 16 hours a day with no time off or any real breaks. It´s even frowned in the japanese business world to go on holyday and i would be surprised if his daughter could describe her fathers in more than 10 sentences. Publishers need to rethink how they treat their golden cows but SJ was at least kind enough to "gift" him a trophy wife. He needs to change to a monthly schedule to improve the quality of work and life and should starts doing real breaks as he is 40 and is only killing himself as is but he mentioned that he would never do long form work after One Piece ends (in 10+ years...).

The last 2 chapters though were the first actually good ones in years as i was about to drop the series after following if since 2001. Well done!

Whaaat? Come on! Yeah I know mangaka have shorter life spans just as a consequence of the lifestyle they end of living as a result of weekly releases, but DAT CLIFFHANGER!!! How much more frustrating could it get. Granted, I would much rather he take a break than have him keep going and die of overwork. But if that were the case he could have picked literally any other time.

As far as I can tell this is some sort of marketing gimmick to get people hyped about what it could be. Taking a hiatus right after a major revelation just kills people with suspense. Which I am ok with. However, I will not be ok if Oda hasn't actually figured out what gear fourth looks like and this is just a delay tactic to buy himself more time. THAT would piss me off.

But I will have faith. Oda hasn't betrayed me before (unlike Kubo), so hopefully he won't start now.

I don't want Oda to get hospitalized again. He needs to be alive. I wouldn't mind even if he switched to a schedule of one chapter every 2 weeks.

I think the hiatus is from Jump, not Oda. The comment (according to Manga Panda's translation) is "We will be on hiatus next issue. We plan to resume the publication with the weekly jump #22-23 double issue." Soooo... don't place the blame on Oda for leaving a cliffhanger. Jump is the one taking a break is what I gather from reading the "we" comment.

... you're wrong, and manga panda sucks as usual. Other Jump series will be available next week. There will be a double issue the week after that, and then Jump will be on break the week after that.

A break, ok, i get it and will wait for a "GREAT" chapter when it returns. What I'm surprised about is no one taking guess about what Gear 4 will look like!?
Will his whole body increase in size or maybe become smaller... Will be be engulfed in flames or maybe his hair will turn blonde and grow down to his knees!?! Oh wait that's something else, lol 😀

Ah, you're right. I was wrong, but the comment about manga panda... Is saddening (I quite like manga panda, though they are not the best quality...)
